Pure Power Mouthguard ( PPM )
www.ppmmouthguard.com
The Pure Power Mouthguard (PPM) is an amazing new piece of technology that
allows you to immediately improve balance, endurance and increase strength. This
mouthguard is designed to be worn comfortably during all sports or physical activities
(football, basketball, baseball, golf, weight-training, surfing, skiing, hockey,
etc). Additionally, it protects the teeth/jaws and decreases your chance of injury.
The PPM is designed for all sports enthusiasts ranging from the professional athlete
to the dedicated amateur. There are different models for different sports. Contact
sports use a PPM that fits on the upper teeth and non-contact sports use a PPM that
fits on the lower teeth.
How does it work?
- Everybody has some degree of misalignment in their jaw. This misalignment creates
tension and prevents the muscles in the upper body from working at their full potential.
The PPM puts the jaw in the optimum position allowing the muscles to be recruited
to their full potential, thus improving their strength. This optimum position also
gives the wearer greater balance and opens the airways for greater endurance. If
you go to PPM's website at www.ppmmouthguard.com
you can see a video on the science behind the PPM. There are also testimonials and
additional information on its benefits
How do I get a PPM?
- The first thing we need is to book a consultation appointment to see if you are
a candidate for a PPM. The appointment is approximately 10 minutes and is no charge
to you. Once we ensure you are a good candidate, you can choose between the amateur
or professional PPM. The next appointment will be booked for either
1 1/2 or 2 1/2 hours depending on your choice. We will take impressions of
your teeth and TENS you for about 45 minutes.
If you choose the professional
PPM we will also use the K7 (electro-myograph and computerized mandibular scanning
unit). The final appointment to deliver the PPM takes about 20 minutes.
What is TENSing and why do you have to TENS me?
- In order to get the optimum jaw position, we need to relax the muscles in the face
and head and also rid them of any toxins. The TENS machine does this with a mild
electrical stimulation. Once the muscles are relaxed we are able to find that optimum
position.
Does the TENSing hurt?
- No. TENSing does not hurt. It feels like a squeezing/pulsing sensation on the face
and neck.
When will I get my PPM?
- It takes 2 weeks for the lab to fabricate your PPM, and the appointment for delivery
takes approximately 20 minutes.
